Mid-century Scandinavian silver jewellery is recognised for its clean lines, organic silhouettes, and stylized representations of flora and fauna. Silversmiths from this period combined traditional hand-finishing techniques with modern aesthetic simplicity.

These items are predominantly crafted from high-grade sterling silver, often marked with standard purity stamps such as 925S. Specific techniques included controlled oxidisation in recessed areas to highlight decorative relief details.

Authentic pieces bear official makers marks, hallmark stamps indicating silver purity, and frequently a specific design model number. Original fastenings typically feature traditional pin mechanisms with safety catches.

Brooches can be attached to coat lapels, heavy knitwear, scarves, or blazer collars to introduce a focal point. They are also styled on fabric handbags or secured to hat ribbons.

Clean silver pieces using a soft, untreated silver polishing cloth to remove surface tarnish without stripping deliberate oxidisation. Avoid harsh chemical dips or abrasive pastes that can damage detailed relief work.
