Gilt and Gesso has dated this 1937 George VI Coronation Stool to the 1930s.
A fine quality example of an original 1937 George V1 coronation stool by Gillows.

Recently acquired via the direct family descendants that attended the ceremony and Westminster Cathedral where each guest was invited to buy their stools or chairs as a souvenir and way to contribute towards the cost of the event.

Many examples of these have been well used with torn fabric or weak frame joints. This stands well with no wobbles or loose joints whilst the fabric retains good colour and suffered no tears.
