Art Deco 18ct Gold Sapphire and Diamond Daisy Ring

1920 - 1940
Description

Beautiful Art Deco 18ct Gold Sapphire and Diamond Ring. A pretty antique ring consisting of an excellent coloured light blue sapphire 5.5mm x 5.5mm. The sapphire is surrounded by a halo of small single cut diamonds of probably 2 points each. So approximately 0.24ct in total. The total face of the Ring measures 10mm x 10mm. The diamonds are full of sparkle, this ring would make an impressive antique engagement ring. Ring is in overall very good condition, the stones have no chips or scratches and the shank is thinning but overall strong. Small but perfectly formed ring. Shank is hallmarked for 18ct gold and probably dates to the art deco era 1930s. The box in the photograph is NOT included. This ring is size UK M and US 6 Weight 2.2g

Photographs are ZOOMED with x5 magnification. SO Please Check Sizes And Weights before purchasing as JEWELLERY IMAGES ARE ENLARGED!! Dark areas are reflections on the gold.

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Originating in the early 20th century, a daisy cluster ring features a central coloured gemstone, such as a sapphire, surrounded by a halo of smaller diamonds arranged to resemble flower petals. Art Deco examples often incorporate geometric precision, low-profile settings, and platinum or mixed-metal craftsmanship.

Rings from the Art Deco period were typically crafted using 18ct yellow gold for the band, often combined with platinum or white gold settings to highlight the white brilliance of the surrounding diamonds and the deep blue tone of the sapphire.

Authentic pieces generally display period hallmark stamps, hand-cut gemstones such as single-cut or Old European cut diamonds, fine millegrain border detailing, and specific wear patterns consistent with age along the shank and setting edges.

The classic floral motif and low-profile design make this style versatile enough to serve as a distinctive daily engagement ring or to be layered alongside simple modern gold bands and minimalist tailored wardrobe pieces.

Clean the setting gently using warm water, mild soap, and a soft-bristled brush to remove dust from behind the stones. Avoid harsh chemical cleaners or ultrasonic baths, and have the claw settings inspected periodically by a professional jeweller.
