An Art Deco solitaire engagement ring from 1920 comprises a central 0.94-carat old mine cut diamond held within an eight-claw white gold coronet collet. The piece is fashioned from 18k white gold and platinum with a silver-tone polished finish, featuring gently tapering platinum shoulders and an open gallery. Visible details include a multi-claw setting on a slim band. The diamond measures 6.54 x 6.03 mm and sits 5.6 mm from the finger, with a total weight of 3.45 grams. Intended for everyday wear as a fine jewellery accessory, the ring complements traditional attire and fits comfortably on the hand. It suits formal occasions and daily use alike, adding a subtle sparkle to standard wardrobes. The item pairs easily with other fine accessories or stands alone on the finger.

Art Deco jewellery from the 1920s often featured platinum or white gold settings, geometric silhouettes, and hand-cut diamonds such as Old European or cushion cuts.

Platinum and white gold were the primary metals utilised during this era, typically set with hand-faceted diamonds valued for their high crowns and deep proportions.

Authentic period pieces feature hand-cut diamonds with visible culets, period hallmark stamps, delicate claw settings, and subtle geometric tooling along the band.

An antique diamond solitaire pairs directly with unadorned contemporary bands or textured stacking rings to create a balanced, modern combination.

Clean settings using warm water, mild soapy solution, and a soft brush, followed by regular professional checks to confirm setting security.
