Edwardian Seed Pearl Drop Earrings 15ct Gold Antique Screw Back Foliate Dangle Ca 1900

A delightful pair of Edwardian pearl drop earrings, beautifully handcrafted in 15ct yellow gold and dating to around 1900.

Delicate and wonderfully feminine, each earring begins with a small pearl approximately 3mm in diameter, from which is suspended a slender articulated drop set with four tiny seed pearls.

Below hangs an elegant open circular motif, bordered entirely with further seed pearls. Suspended freely within the centre is a pretty stylised foliate design, itself highlighted with two seed pearls and finished with a small pearl drop beneath.

The articulated construction gives the earrings gentle movement when worn, allowing the pearls and polished gold to catch the light beautifully.

The seed pearls measure approximately 1.5mm, while the small suspended pearl measures approximately 2mm. Their soft creamy-white colouring complements the warm yellow tone of the gold particularly well.

The earrings test as 15ct gold and retain their original traditional screw-back fittings for non-pierced ears — an increasingly unusual and desirable feature.

Dating to circa 1900, these are a lovely surviving pair of Edwardian earrings, beautifully proportioned and retaining their original character.
