All three drawers are pulled partially open, revealing their plain timber interiors and construction. The practical layout offers surface space for writing or a computer, alongside three compartments for stationery.

FAQs

A traditional oak writing table is a practical piece of working furniture featuring a flat surface, often inlaid with leather, accompanied by drawers for stationery storage and constructed from solid oak timber.

These tables are primarily constructed from solid oak or mahogany, featuring leather or skiver writing inserts, solid drawer linings with hand-cut dovetail joints, and cast brass handles.

Authentic pieces display hand-cut dovetail joinery inside the drawers, natural age patination across the timber grain, period-correct brass drop handles, and original lock mechanisms beneath the table top.

An antique writing table can serve as a functional work-from-home desk in a study, a slim dressing table in a bedroom, or a side console in a spacious hallway.

Maintain the piece by dusting with a soft dry cloth, applying bees wax to the exposed timber annually, and treating the leather insert with a dedicated leather conditioner to avoid drying and cracking.
