The Vintage Wrist Watch Company has dated this Jw Benson Pocket Watch to the 1920s.
The watch has a Swiss 15-jewel Cyma stem-winding movement which is working nicely.
The company made its own movements up until the first World War but when the Belle Sauvage Yard factory was hit during a bombing raid in 1914, it started purchasing mechanisms from a number of quality Swiss movement producers, including Cyma and Revue. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside both case backs for Birmingham 1922 with a case maker’s mark for Aaron Dennison. The English case maker Aaron Dennison was based in Birmingham and supplied various watch makers with cases. The front and sides of the case are in good condition, some unevenness to the hinged case back.
The glass lens is in good condition.
The signed dial is in lovely condition with original blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and outer minute track.
The watch comes in a new presentation box.
