The Vintage Wrist Watch Company has dated this Silver Elgin Pocket Watch to the 1920s.
The watch has a 7-jewel stem-winding movement, grade 288, which is working nicely.

The watch measures 55mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is silver and is hallmarked for Chester (import mark) 1920 with an importer’s mark for the London watch maker Marc Alfred Holland. Screw-on bezel and case back. The case is in super condition, nice crisp engine turned detail to the back with a vacant cartouche.

There is an eight year date discrepancy between the case and the movement but we have examined the watch and they appear absolutely original to each other, and we are confident that everything is as it should be.

The acrylic lens is in good condition.
The signed dial is in very nice condition with original blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and outer minute track.
The watch comes in a new presentation box.
