Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A Regency side cabinet in dark brown rosewood displays a breakfront white marble top above four panelled doors inset with brass trellis grilles over cream fabric. Columns with Corinthian capitals flank the doors, resting on rosette carved circular feet, while brass keyhole escutcheons punctuate the polished timber framing. The interior includes adjustable shelves behind the doors, which show a fine grain pattern and original warmth in the wood tone. This grand cabinet measures 90 cm high, 172 cm wide, and 46 cm deep overall. It sits comfortably in a formal dining room, hallway, or living room as a substantial surface for displaying lamps or decorative objects while offering concealed storage.

FAQs

Regency side cabinets typically feature symmetrical architectural forms, refined veneers such as rosewood or mahogany, and classical decorative elements inspired by ancient Greek and Roman design.

These cabinets frequently utilised highly figured rosewood veneers, white marble or slate tops, cast brass grilles or trellises, and fabric linings behind door panels.

Authentic pieces exhibit hand-carved classical details such as ionic capitals or patera feet, hand-cut dovetail joinery, period-correct brass hardware, and natural patination across the timber.

A Regency side cabinet functions well as a focal piece in a formal dining room, hallway, or living space, providing structured storage while pairing effectively with contemporary art.

Dust timber surfaces regularly with a soft cloth and apply beeswax sparingly along the grain, while cleaning marble tops using a pH-neutral cleaner to avoid etching or discolouration.
