This Edwardian tourbillon ring dates from circa 1915 and belongs to the platinum, yellow gold and diamond category. The piece features a central old European cut diamond weighing 1.00 carat set in the middle of a platinum-faced sweeping swirl. The mount includes millegrain detailing, curved shoulders set with twenty-eight small rose cut accent diamonds, and a slender 18k yellow gold shank. The colour palette combines bright silver tones with warm gold. The ring measures 13.7 mm at its widest point and sits 5.25 mm from the finger, with a total weight of 4.32 grams. Worn on the hand as a fine jewellery accessory, this item adds historical Edwardian character to everyday wear or special occasions. The construction displays a multi-stone setting with a central round brilliant-like profile, intricate metal beadwork edges along the swirling shoulders, and a distinct two-tone metal band transition. It functions as a finger ring suitable for collections or personal adornment, bringing a period aesthetic to modern wardrobes.

Originating in the early twentieth century, the tourbillon or swirl ring design features a central gemstone enclosed by fluid, spiralling bands of diamond-set metal. This motif reflects the aesthetic of the Edwardian period, emphasizing dynamic symmetry, light-catching curves, and delicate metalwork.

Edwardian rings frequently incorporated platinum or platinum-faced yellow gold, allowing craftspeople to create thin yet durable settings. Diamonds from this era were predominantly hand-cut as old European or rose cuts, held within fine claw or bezel mountings finished with millegrain edging.

Authentic pieces from circa 1900 to 1915 display old European cut diamonds with small table facets, high crowns, and open culets. Construction features typically include platinum fused to a yellow gold under-gallery alongside hand-engraved details and precise millegrain borders.

An Edwardian swirl ring functions as an elegant focal point when paired with modern tailored garments or minimalist evening wear. Its combination of white platinum and yellow gold allows for versatile pairing with both warm-toned and cool-toned contemporary jewellery.

Clean the piece using warm water, mild liquid soap, and a soft-bristled brush to gently remove build-up beneath the gallery. Avoid abrasive chemicals or ultrasonic cleaners, and have a professional jeweller periodically inspect the claw settings for stability.
