This George V sterling silver cheroot case and compact exhibits a rectangular oblong form measuring 1.5 cm high, 8.5 cm wide, and 6.5 cm deep, possessing slightly domed sides, rounded edges, and corners with a polished finish. The front surface displays engraved floral and ribbon bow motifs flanking an inset circular hinged lid for the powder compact section. The piece incorporates functional hardware including catches for opening the compartments, a mirror inside the compact lid, and an interior retaining strap. Fabricated by Birmingham silversmith Samuel Levi in 1921, the silver object shows clear hallmarks and a bright metallic silver colour. In a contemporary home, this gentleman's library accessory sits neatly upon a sideboard top as a decorative collectible or practical container. The compact compartment opens to reveal a gilt-lined interior designed for powder storage alongside the separate cheroot section fitted with its original strap. The meticulous floral engraving covers the top surface while the rear remains plain, demonstrating early twentieth-century silversmithing techniques. The item functions well in modern interior displays or study settings without requiring extensive maintenance beyond standard silver care.

An integrated cheroot case and compact is a portable personal accessory from the early 20th century, designed to hold small cigars alongside a powder compartment or mirror within a single silver vessel.

These cases were typically constructed from sterling silver, featuring machine-turned or hand-engraved surface patterns, fitted hinges, and internal spring clasps to hold contents securely.

Authentic George V silver pieces display British hallmark stamps, including the makers mark, standard mark such as the lion passant, city assay mark, and date letter corresponding to the period between 1910 and 1936.

Small silver accessories can be displayed flat on a vanity tray, styled atop a stack of hardcover books, or positioned inside a glazed cabinet alongside other period collectables.

Silver cases should be buffed gently with a dry microfibre cloth and treated periodically with a non-abrasive silver polish to prevent tarnish while protecting detailed engraving.
