Description

A 19th Century Burnished Steel Fire Fender.

With a rounded top edge, over a pierced frieze, the ball bands enclosing a lattice panel surrounding re-entrant cornered and stepped tablets, finished to the lower edge with likewise a band of balls. The frieze sweeping in a curve to each end to flow into the returns. The whole with a broad lower frieze, with a rounded banding, before the concave profile foot rim.

Height 7 inches, 18cm.

Width 44 inches, 112cm.

Depth 10 1/2 inches, 27cm.

Date circa 1830.
