An Art Nouveau bronze “Inconsciente” by Gustave Dussart, Circa 1905.

A female nude with modelled with two cats at her feet, standing on a marble base, signed 'G Dussart'

Gustave Louis Dussart (1875-1952) A French sculptor, and pupil of Jean-Léon Gérôme, Gustave Dussart exhibited at the Salon des artistes français from 1899 and obtained an honourable mention in 1909. He also took part in the Paris, Lyon and Lille Salons. His best-known works are the two groups that appear on the main façade of the Oceanographic Museum of Monaco, Le Secours and Le Progrès venant au secours de l'Humanité, inaugurated on 25 February 1903. Among his notable works is also the Bust of Colonel William Frederick Cody, known as Buffalo Bill, made in 1897 and currently kept at the Musée du Nouveau Monde in La Rochelle.
