Victorian Pollard Oak Mirror- Back Sideboard

Description

A superb late Victorian pollard oak mirror‑back sideboard in excellent condition. The upper section features five bevelled mirrors framed by carved uprights, shaped supports, and decorative cresting, crowned by a finely carved mask.

Flanking the mirrors are high‑relief animal carvings — a boar’s head and a fox or wolf — emerging from scrolling oak leaves, beautifully modelled with textured fur.

The base has a panelled front, a double‑doored central cupboard, and shelves to either side with carved uprights for display. A concealed panel opens to reveal sliding trays for storage.

The pollard oak shows a warm caramel tone with lively burr figuring and a rich patina. A genuine Victorian piece combining architectural presence, practicality, and decorative charm.
