Description

North west persia,circa 1900.

Beautiful overall palette of salmon pinks,very pale pistachio green ground. Two pairs of candy striped animal motifs within the field. Crosses within octagons and star shaped rosettes within the crosses.

Framed by three simple flower head and geometric leaf minor borders.

Hand washed last images.

All over very low pile with very light subtle wear. Fringe ends been blanket stitched and side cords over bound.

Size is 7 foot 10 inches by 3 foot 9 inches. 239cm X 114cm. At widest points. Fringes not measured in size. Wool pile hand knotted onto cotton warp and wool weft threads.

A beautiful weaving for little money.
