Description

A charming antique 18th century oak bureau, featuring a fall-front writing slope opening to reveal a fitted interior with pigeonholes and small drawers. The bureau is fitted with four graduated drawers, each with traditional cockbeaded edges and brass handles. Beautifully crafted in oak with a lovely warm colour and naturally aged patina. The fall front retains its original working lock and key. A handsome and practical example.

CONDITION REPORT:

In good antique condition throughout with signs of age and use commensurate with its years. There are surface marks, scratches and areas of wear throughout, including staining to the top. There is minor loss to the cockbeaded edge of the second drawer from the bottom and minor loss to the top edge, as pictured. The fall-front lock operates with the key; the drawer locks are not currently working. The bureau remains structurally solid and sound, presenting well with a lovely warm colour and patina.
