This is a large antique buffet. A Scottish, carved oak server or sideboard with Gothic revival taste, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1900.

Classic, generously proportioned buffet with ornate carved decorations

Displays a desirable aged patina and in good antique order

Select oak stocks show fine grain interest and wisps of medullary rays

Deep caramel hues enhance the visual appeal of the form

Wide top surface with relief carved crown moulding to the edges

Pair of inset drawers to the fascia, with wide drawer boxes and prominent foliate cup handles

Tapering baluster support arms with fluted finish and relief carved rear supports host the top

Large open gallery space situated between the top plinth and cabinet base

Two cabinet doors situated within the base, in field panel form

Each door hosting a striking Green Man mask, a staple of Gothic iconography

Right hand door secured with an inset brass lock — in working order, key present

Standing upon a quartet of block feet, beneath a flared apron
