We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A gate bracelet is a style of wristwear featuring interlocking parallel bars or decorative pierced panels that mimic the appearance of traditional wrought-iron gates. Popular in the late Victorian and Edwardian periods, these bracelets are often secured with a heart-shaped padlock clasp.

Antique gate bracelets were predominantly crafted from 9ct or 15ct rose gold and yellow gold alloys. The links frequently featured hand-chased details, filigree work, or openwork panels, paired with solid gold heart padlocks and safety chains.

Authentic pieces from this era typically feature British assay hallmarks stamped on individual links or the padlock clasp, showing gold purity such as 9ct or 375. Original examples display hand-finished scrollwork, articulated gate links, and functional heart-lock fasteners with fitted safety chains.

An antique gate bracelet serves as an understated statement piece when worn individually against tailored cuffs. Alternatively, it can be stacked alongside minimalist modern bangles to create a layered, multi-textured wrist styling.

Clean gently using lukewarm water, a drop of mild dishwashing detergent, and a very soft brush to clear dirt from pierced scrollwork. Wipe thoroughly with a soft cloth and store flat in a velvet lining to avoid stretching or snagging the delicate link joints.
