Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

During the Edwardian era (19011910), luxury travel accessories became popular amongst wealthy individuals. Travelling cologne sets were designed to fit neatly into luggage while protecting fragile glass bottles inside lined leather cases.

These sets typically combine heavy cut or faceted glass bottles, sterling silver or silver-plated caps, and internal glass stoppers. The protective outer cases are commonly constructed from stiffened leather lined with suede, velvet, or silk.

Authentic pieces generally feature British hallmark stamps on the silver mounts detailing the maker, silver purity standard, assay office, and date letter. Additionally, period-appropriate items show hand-faceted cut glass, ground glass stoppers matched to specific bottle necks, and hand-stitched leather casing.

Display the glass bottles alongside the open leather casing on a dressing table, bathroom vanity unit, or bedside table. Grouping the clear glass and metallic silver elements with soft textiles or dark polished wood creates an elegant vignette.

Clean glass bottles using mild dish soap and warm water, avoiding harsh chemicals. Polish silver caps with a soft microfiber cloth and specialised silver polish, ensuring liquids do not enter internal mechanisms, and treat leather cases with a neutral leather conditioner.
