Large Oak Glazed School College Cabinet Bookcase C1930

A fabulous looking and highly placeable English oak school 3 door glazed cabinet bookcase by The Harlew Cabinet Co. of Birmingham C1930 sitting in rather good original condition.

The cabinet is a classic educational piece with a light hint of art deco in the rounded edges to the top and long oak handles, alongside the deep plinth, oak framed glazed doors and with adjustable oak fronted shelves its a bit of a classic and of great scale - perfect for a kitchen, larger hallway or living room.

Condition is good - with solid oak rather than panels or veneer being used, so it sits heavy and firm. The original glass is crack free and overall the piece is in great condition with no nasty off putting surprises. The piece has been carefully cleaned and lightly waxed in our workshop and is ready for placing. No keys are in place.

Billy Hunt and Co is located on a large Victorian farm just a short country drive from the Rangemore village, a designated conservation area, which was built by Michael Thomas Bass in the 1850s to house the Bass Rangemore Estate workers consisting mainly of Victorian redbrick cottages and the occasional barn.

Our home is a classic Victorian designed and well equipped late 19th century 2 story red brick built barn of some 4000 sq feet nestled in classic English countryside, which enjoyed a careful full renovation in 2000. The estate still benefits being managed in the traditional manner with an Estate Manger, estate carpenter, gardeners etc. A rather delightful place to have as our work space.

Martina, there is no Billy at Billy hunt, has led the team since 2103 and is an interior designer qualified from The Inchbald School of Design London whose previous working life included such clients as Vertu, Aston Martin and Johnnie Walker to name a few.
