An imposing and highly decorative pair of exceptional quality 19th-century French bronze and gilt five light candelabra, dating to circa 1850.Each candelabrum stands on three raised foliate feet set upon a stepped circular base, enriched with elegant beaded gilt collars. Rising from the centre is a bold acanthus leaf support adorned with further gilt and bronze decorative collars, leading to a finely cast classical figure. One candelabrum features a graceful maiden, while the other is modelled as a male satyr, each holding a finely detailed gilt bronze cornucopia from which the scrolling upper branches emerge.The five foliate-cast branches comprise four lower lights surrounding a raised central candle arm, creating a striking and well-balanced silhouette.
