Antique Edwardian Small Mahogany Bureau

A charming antique Edwardian mahogany bureau, standing on bracket feet with four graduated drawers retaining attractive brass swan neck handles. The fall-front is beautifully decorated with contrasting string inlay and a central oval satinwood-style shell inlay, opening to reveal a well-appointed fitted interior with an arrangement of pigeonholes, small drawers and a central cupboard.

The bureau features an automatic action where the writing supports slide out as the fall-front is lowered, providing a practical writing surface. A well-proportioned and elegant example with fine inlaid detailing throughout.

CONDITION REPORT:

In excellent antique condition throughout with only minor signs of age and use. There is light surface wear including age-related marks, scratches and a few small indentations to the top surface, as pictured. Very slight warping to fall front means it does not sit completely flush when closed, however, this does not detract from the overall appeal. Overall, the bureau remains solid, sound and presents exceptionally well.
