Antique Tabriz Rug 2.00m X 1.48m

An outstanding antique Tabriz rug woven at the beginning of the 20th Century. This rug features a stunning paradise garden design on an ivory field surrounded by a deep red and sky blue border. Lots of animal figures including birds, deer, snakes and, in a first for me, what looks like a lion with a human head having it’s lunch! Some wonderful secondary colours of golds, reds and greens and a very decorative rug.
 
Size: 2.00m x 1.48m (6ft 7in x 4ft 10in)
 
This rug is in good condition with light, age related wear, slightly heavier in a very small area in the centre and along the outer edge (see photos). Fringes and selvedges are secure and it has been professionally cleaned.
