Vintage Heart Padlock Drop 'Mizpah' 9ct Yellow Gold Band Ring

Description

This vintage padlock ring is modelled in 9ct yellow gold. This unusual ring features the word MIZPAH across its face, and a heart padlock drop at the front.

Padlocks first became popular during the Victorian period. They were worn by women whose significant others were leaving for an extended period. The padlock was significant because it was locked onto the woman, and only her beloved had the key—he would then open it upon his return.

Mainly popular on bracelets, padlock rings are much scarcer and more collectable.
