Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

An antique silver book stamp case is a compact, portable container crafted to resemble a miniature book, engineered during the late Victorian and Edwardian eras to hold and protect gummed paper postage stamps in a pocket or attached to a watch chain.

These cases were typically manufactured from sterling silver, occasionally embellished with enamel lettering, engine-turned patterns, or hand-engraved scrollwork, and fitted with internal sliding mechanisms or spring hinges.

Authentic British silver stamp cases feature clear hallmarks indicating the makers mark, silver purity mark (the lion passant for sterling silver), assay office mark (such as the anchor for Birmingham), and a date letter corresponding to the exact year of manufacture.

These miniature silver objects can be worn as functional pendants or charms on silver chains and watch fobs, or displayed alongside other pocket novelties inside glass domes and collector cabinets.

To preserve antique silver, gently polish the surface using a soft microfibre cloth designed for silver, avoiding harsh liquid cleaners that could strip natural oxidisation from hand-engraved details or damage enamel.
