Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Egyptian Revival jewellery emerged in the 19th and early 20th centuries, heavily influenced by archaeological discoveries such as the opening of Tutankhamuns tomb in 1922. Pieces typically feature iconic motifs including pharaohs, scarabs, sarcophagi, and lotus flowers, often rendered in gilt metal with polychrome enamel work.

These items were crafted using cast or stamped brass and silver-gilt bases, decorated with cold or champleve enamel accents. Internal sliding mechanisms allowed graphite lead to extend and retract smoothly within a compact decorative housing.

Authentic period examples exhibit precise enamel application, functional mechanical components, and appropriate wear to gilt finishes. Hallmarks, makers marks, or patent numbers stamped on the suspension ring or collar also assist in confirming age.

These functional charms can be suspended from a gold neck chain, attached to an antique watch fob chain, or incorporated into a charm bracelet. They are also displayed in glass-topped collector cases alongside period writing paraphernalia.

Clean gently using a soft, dry microfibre cloth to remove fingerprints and surface dust. Avoid liquid cleaners, chemical dips, or ultrasonic baths, as these can strip original gilding and damage delicate enamel inlays.
