A Victorian Sterling Silver and gilt Vinaigrette by Edward Smith, Birmingham 1857
A stunning Victorian silver gilt vinaigrette, of rectangular form with curved edge and beautifully engraved on all sides.
The hinged cover opens to reveal a gilt interior, with floral pierced hinged grille, fully hallmarked to the interior. Blank circular cartouche to lid.
Measuring 3.5 cm x 2.5 cm and weighs approximately 17.2 grams.
In very good antique condition, hallmarks are good, gilding is still bright. The exterior of the vinaigrette is very good. There is wear /scratch marks to the inside base where it’s been used.
