Antique Mahogany Chippendale Revival Desk by Gillows

Description

A magnificent antique mahogany Chippendale revival desk by Gillows. This was made in England, it dates from around the 1890-1900 period.

The quality is outstanding, the Gillows makers stamp is seen in the top right drawer. This has a beautiful design, it sits on cabriole legs with acanthus leaf carving at the knees, terminating in claw and ball feet with brass casters. This has a polished back with two dummy drawers, so can be used as a free standing item. The handles are beautifully made with intricate details, this has an amazing inset black leather top with gold tooled edges.

We have had this recently re-polished, the condition is excellent.

Knee height – 24 inches , 61 cm
