Description

A good quality Edwardian mahogany Shapland & Petter freestanding desk. Of Chippendale influence, standing on claw and ball legs with acanthus carving to the knees. The 5 cock beaded drawers with brass, shaped back plate, swan neck handles and brass locks stamped " S.H.B." (Shapland & Petter of Barnstable). The kneeholes at the front and back having decorative carved fan supports. The solid mahogany top having a gadrooned edge and a tan leather writing surface with blind and gold tooling. In fine condition with working locks and keys.
