Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This Persian Heriz carpet originates from 1910 and measures 250 cm high, 185 cm wide, and 1 cm deep. The wool and cotton piece has a soft red ground field patterned with a central geometric medallion, corner spandrels, and stylised palmettes, all complemented by a contrasting navy blue turtle border in shades of blue, pink, and white. The hand-knotted small squarish format shows an even low pile with traces of minor wear, presenting a clean surface ready for floor placement. Ideal for adding traditional warmth underfoot, it suits living rooms, bedrooms, or studies in an English country house interior scheme.

FAQs

Heriz carpets originate from Northwest Iran, recognised for their geometric interpretations of traditional floral medallion patterns and durable construction.

They are hand-knotted using hand-spun wool pile woven onto a strong cotton warp and weft foundation.

Authentic Heriz rugs feature angular geometric medallions, vibrant terracotta or rust red fields, complex multi-layered borders, and hand-tied knots visible on the reverse.

A Heriz carpet provides focal warmth, grounding contemporary furniture and complementing natural timber floors.

Vacuum regularly without the suction brush engaged, clear spills immediately with a damp cloth, and utilise professional hand-washing for deep maintenance.
