Guiloche enamel involves engraving a precise, repetitive pattern onto metal using a mechanical lathe before applying translucent layers of enamel, creating a shimmering geometric effect popular in early 20th-century luxury vanity items.

Antique scent bottles typically combined cut or moulded glass and crystal bodies with precious metals such as sterling silver, gold, or gilt brass, often complemented by intricate enamel work.

Authenticity is verified through clear hallmarks indicating the assay office, makers mark, and date letter, alongside inspection of the glass bodys wear patterns and the hand-finished quality of the metalwork and enamel.

These pieces function as sophisticated display objects on mirrored trays, dressing table surfaces, or bathroom countertops, adding a touch of historical colour and metallic sheen to contemporary spaces.

Silver components should be maintained with a specialised jewellers cloth to avoid abrasive contact with the enamel, while the glass interior can be rinsed with warm water without submerging the capped collar.
