Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This Victorian tall stool dates from 1910 and brings a gentleman's library character into the interior. The piece is constructed from dark brown mahogany with metal elements and a dark brown leather seat. Particular details include turned legs, a stretcher base, and a padded seat finished with brass stud detailing along the edge. The wooden frame displays a rich polished finish, and the upholstery shows gentle surface texture. Practical proportions measure 90 cm high, 30 cm wide, and 30 cm deep. Such a stool fits well as a standalone seat beside a tall reading desk, bar counter, or writing table in a traditional study or living space.

FAQs

An antique leather tall stool is an elevated seating piece constructed with a solid timber frame and upholstered with a padded leather seat, frequently detailed with brass close-nail studding.

These pieces were typically crafted using dense hardwoods such as mahogany, oak, or walnut for the legs and frame, paired with genuine animal hide upholstery and brass metal fixings.

Authentic pieces exhibit hand-turned or carved timber joinery, natural patination on the leather surface, hand-tacked studding, and minor surface wear consistent with historical use.

A single tall stool can be positioned alongside a modern kitchen island, high counter, or home bar area to introduce historic texture and material contrast.

Leather should be treated periodically with a specialist leather balm to prevent drying and cracking, while timber frames require regular dusting and application of natural beeswax.
