Superb 8' 9" Navy Blue Wool Runner Rug

A superb quality antique Persian pure wool hand knotted runner in excellent unworn newly cleaned condition c.1910. The close deep hand knotted pile with rich navy blue background and a diamond shaped central medallion and a motif of vase with floral sprays to each end. Two additional medallions and geometric floral garlands fill the the central section of the rug in tones of champagne, pinks, reds, burnt orange and blues. Narrow border to the outer edge with champagne background and geometric decoration; the design typical of the Hamadan area of Persia.
