This fine quality Edwardian inlaid mahogany ladies desk was made circa 1910 and would have been retailed by one of the major quality high-end London retailers, probably Maple & co. This desk typifies the ‘age of elegance’ that this period was known for.
The cylinder-shaped fall opens to reveal the fitted interior and its original inset leather writing surface (this could be renewed if required). Above the fall front is a pair of drawers, and below is one long drawer, all with the original brass swing handles.
The desk stands on tapered legs that have bow wood stringing and curved stretchers to the rear.
