Victorian cranberry glass, popular during the 19th century, is characterised by its distinctive pinkish-red hue achieved by adding gold chloride to the molten glass mixture.

These pieces combine mouth-blown or mould-pressed glass with sterling silver lids, often featuring intricate repousse or chased ornamentation crafted by period silversmiths.

Authenticity is typically verified by examining the glass for small air bubbles and pontil marks, alongside checking the silver components for British hallmarks indicating the assay office and date letter.

Place the bottle on a mirrored vanity tray or a marble bathroom counter to reflect light through the coloured glass, pairing it with other metallic and crystal accessories.

Clean the glass gently using lukewarm water and mild soap, avoiding harsh chemicals that could damage the delicate silver mount or compromise historical hallmarks.
