Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Originating in early eighteenth-century England, a Queen Anne bureau is a compact slant-front desk featuring a hinged fall-front writing flap that conceals an interior fitted with pigeonholes and small drawers, positioned above a chest of storage drawers.

Cabinetmakers during this period predominantly used figured burr walnut and straight-grained walnut veneers applied over pine or oak carcasses, complemented by cast brass handles and escutcheons.

Authentic pieces feature hand-cut dovetail joinery, herringbone or cross-banded veneer borders, oak or pine secondary drawer linings, engraved brass hardware, and natural surface patination.

A bureau serves as a functional compact home office desk in a living room, study, or hallway, offering a focal point when contrasted with contemporary art or modern desk seating.

Position the piece away from direct sunlight and radiators to prevent veneer movement, maintain consistent humidity levels, and clean surfaces using a soft cloth followed by periodic applications of natural beeswax.
