Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Reticulated porcelain plates feature intricate pierced or openwork lattice borders created by cutting wet clay before firing. Popularised by prominent English manufacturers such as Minton in the nineteenth century, this style was frequently produced for ornamental dessert services and display.

Nineteenth-century English porcelain was predominantly crafted from bone ash, china stone, and kaolin clay to form a translucent ceramic body. Decorative motifs were applied using hand-painted enamel botanical pigments alongside gilded accents burnished with gold leaf.

Authentic pieces typically feature impressed or painted factory marks, such as the Minton globe symbol or numerical pattern codes, on the reverse base. Authentic examples demonstrate precise hand-piercing, multi-layered enamel painting, and subtle wear to the gilded rims consistent with age.

These decorative ceramics can be mounted on a wall using padded plate hangers or displayed upright on acrylic stands atop sideboards and shelving units. Positioning them near indirect light highlights the pierced lattice pattern and hand-painted details against plain backdrops.

Dust surfaces gently using a soft, dry microfibre brush or cloth. Avoid full immersion in water, hot liquid, or chemical cleaners, as these methods risk degrading the delicate overglaze enamels and gilding.
