Brian MacDonald Antique Rugs & Carpets has dated this Antique Shahsevan Vanity Bag to the 1890s.
The back has a madder-red plain-weave ground with the overlay/underlay technique in horizontal bands.

Apart from some damage in the lower right base of the bag, which has had some restoration, the wear was no doubt caused by continual use in nomadic life. Otherwise this beautiful little bag is in very good, original condition.
This is an exceptional small vanity-bag which would grace any collection, even allowing for the slight wear and I have priced it fairly because of the damage to the back.
