A superb good sized English solid sterling silver jewellery box. It is hallmarked for Birmingham 1923 with the makers marks being Mappin and Webb. It has been superbly designed having fa serpentine shape with engine turning to the lid, a vacant catouche and blue felt lining. It is in super condition being free from dings splits holes and repairs, the inside is clean and the lid closes tight. It measures approx. 5 inches (12.7cms) across by 3.25 inches (8.3cms) wide by over 1 inch (2.8cms) tall and is heavy weighing 198 grams (including the felt lining). A very high quality example.
