Description

Gents 1950s Helvetia automatic wrist watch.

The watch has a 28 jewel automatic movement, a Helvetia 838, which is working nicely. As with many Helvetia watches, it is wound anti-clockwise to charge up the automatic movement.

The watch measures 34mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. The case is stainless steel and it is in very nice condition. The screw-on case back states that the watch is waterproof but, as with any vintage watch, it should be kept away from water and moisture.

The lens is in good condition.

The signed dial is in lovely original condition with original hands, a centre seconds hand and outer minute markers.

A later leather strap has been fitted.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.

We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
