Gents Seiko Lord Matic Automatic Wrist Watch

1940 - 1960
Description

Gents Seiko Lord Matic automatic wrist watch.

The watch has a 23-jewel automatic movement which is working nicely.

The watch measures 35mm wide excluding the winding crown, and 35mm high excluding the lugs. The case is stainless steel and it is in good condition, just light surface marking but nothing serious at all. The back of the watch has the model number 5606-8010 and the case reference which dates it back to 1970.

The lens has one small mark but not too noticeable to the naked eye.

The signed dial is in its original finish with cross hair detail, original hands, centre seconds and a day / date display (set at first position).

The watch comes on a Seiko stainless steel bracelet which currently fits an 18cm wrist, with capacity on the clasp to make it approximately 1cm smaller. The bracelet is in beautiful condition.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Introduced in the late 1960s, the Seiko Lord Matic line represented a mid-tier automatic wristwatch series produced by the Suwa and Daini factories in Japan, featuring high-beat mechanical movements and innovative case designs.

Vintage automatic timepieces from this period typically feature stainless steel cases, acrylic or mineral glass crystals, and mechanical movements incorporating synthetic rubies as jewel bearings.

Authentication involves checking matching reference numbers on the dial and case back, inspecting movement markings such as the calibre number, and verifying the alignment of the day-date complication.

A vintage wristwatch can be displayed on a dedicated leather watch stand, valet tray, or framed shallow display box on a dressing table or study desk to serve as a functional accent object.

Mechanical wristwatches require periodic movement servicing, protection from magnetic fields and liquid exposure, and gentle cleaning of the stainless steel case using a microfibre cloth.
