FAQs

Edwardian toast racks reflect the formal breakfast customs of the early 20th century, where specialised silverware was utilised to serve crisp toast upright on the dining table.

These items were typically crafted from solid sterling silver using traditional silversmithing techniques, including wirework fabrication, soldering, and hand-polishing.

Authenticity is verified by examining the British hallmarks stamped on the metal, which indicate the assay office, standard mark for sterling silver, and the date letter corresponding to 1912.

Antique silver tableware can be displayed on open shelving, used in contemporary dining settings as a functional decorative object, or incorporated into a curated tablescape to add metallic contrast.

Preservation requires regular dusting and occasional cleaning with a specialist non-abrasive silver polish to maintain the finish without wearing down the hallmarks.
