Edwardian novelty silver items, popular in the early 20th century, often featured whimsical animal designs created for practical desktop use in offices and studies.

These items typically combined sterling silver bodies with natural bristles, such as hog hair or boar bristle, mounted on a solid base.

Authenticity is verified through clear hallmarks indicating the assay office, date letter, silver standard, and makers mark stamped into the metal.

It can be placed on a bookshelf, mantelpiece, or desk as a focal point, pairing well with traditional or eclectic study decor.

Clean with a soft, non-abrasive silver cloth to remove tarnish while preserving the natural patina and protecting the delicate bristle insert.
