An early Victorian Sterling Silver Double compartment Snuff / Vesta case by Nathaniel Mills Birmingham 1848
Beautifully engine turned on both sides with a crisscross design, the hinged cover opens to reveal 2 compartments, one small for snuff and the other with 2 separate compartments for matches. The central cartouche contains an engraved crest with a crown & arrows.
Measuring 6 cm x 3 cm x 1 cm and weighs 29 grams.
In very good antique condition overall, the hallmarks are good. The divider in the larger half has been pushed in over time so it is visible to the base(see photos)
A top quality piece by one of the best makers. Usual signs of wear all commensurate of age and use.
