This is an original example of the tokens created by Alphonse Augis in 1907 in response to the poem, signed A. Augis with a "crepe de chine" textured background and floral and laurel wreath border to indicate the triumph of love. The patent mark "DEPOSE" to the reverse along with the A. Augis signature indicates that this is an early example of these love tokens.

Signed A. Augis, stamped with the eagle's head for 18K gold and French manufacture and Augis' maker's mark.
