An early Victorian Sterling Silver and gilt Vinaigrette by Edward Smith, Birmingham 1844.
 
A stunning Victorian silver gilt vinaigrette, of rectangular form, beautifully engraved within a cross to the lid and a central floral engraving to the base.
 
The hinged cover opens to reveal a gilt interior, with a pierced hinged grille, fully hallmarked to the interior. Blank rectangular cartouche to lid.
 
Queens head stamped to the underside of the grille.
 
Measuring 2.5 cm x 1.5 cm and weighs approximately 9 grams.
 
In very good antique condition, hallmarks are good, gilding is still bright. Usual signs of wear all commensurate of age and use.
