George IV Silver Gilt Vinaigrette Bham 1823 Thomas & William Simpson

Description

A very nice Georgian Sterling Silver and gilt rectangular Vinaigrette by makers Thomas & William Simpson, hallmarked for Birmingham 1823.

Both sides beautifully engraved. With blank cartouche.

Opening to reveal a gilded pierced grille.

Measuring 3 cm x 2 cm and weighs 11.58 grams.

In very good antique condition, hallmarks are rubbed but legible, gilding is a bit faded. Could possibly be an old repair to the inside of the lid above the hinge but no evidence of it externally. Usual signs of wear all commensurate of age and use.
