Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Edwardian era diamond drop earrings, produced between 1901 and 1915, are characteristically light, delicate, and focused on showcasing diamonds. Designs often feature articulated drops, fine milgrain detailing, and settings that maximize light reflection through the gems.

Jewellers during this period commonly set diamonds in silver or platinum fronts backed with 15ct or 18ct yellow gold. This technique prevented oxidation marks on skin or clothing while maintaining the white metal setting preferred for diamonds.

Authentic pieces usually exhibit hand-cut diamonds, such as old European or rose cuts, along with period-specific hallmarks or purity stamps like 15ct gold. Leverback or dormeuse closures and delicate hand-finished settings also indicate period construction.

These drop earrings complement both formal evening wear and contemporary tailored attire. Their delicate proportions allow them to serve as a refined accent without overpowering modern minimalist outfits.

Clean gently using warm water, mild soap, and a soft-bristled brush, avoiding harsh chemicals or ultrasonic cleaners. Store separately in a lined jewellery box to protect the stones and gold settings from scratches.
