Catherines Antique Jewellery Box has dated this piece to the Edwardian era.
The sphere of the fob is set with a carnelian measuring 16mm in diameter. The fob measures 23mm high x 16mm wide. The gold is hallmarked on the trowel for 9ct gold but the date letters are rubbed but probably dates to the Victorian era. The fob has wear to the gold in accordance with age, with a minor dent and some gold has come away on one of the trowels. Overall these things are not particularly noticeable when worn as a pendant or fob. The carnelian stone is in very good condition and does not appear scuffed or worn. Weighs 3.5g.
