This extensive 12 person canteen of cutlery consists of 12 dinner knives and forks, 12 dessert spoons and forks, 12 butter knives, 12 teaspoons, two pickle forks two knives to compliment them and one large ladle. 800 German continental silver. Weight of solid silver items, spoons forks and ladle 2637g (without the knives and pickle forks with moulded weighted handles) they weigh separately 1984g so the total weight is 4621g approximately 3138g of 800 silver. All are marked for 800 silver. A beautiful antique set. And conservatively the total silver weight is worth £2900 at todays scrap price of at £0.95 per g. underestimating the total silver weight as it is approximate for the knives.
This is a beautiful set and to have the full number of knives and forks of this age a set is rare.

Please contact me for any information you require. The knives have the original blades and need handwashing, the steel blades can be replaced or used as they are, many people prefer the originals. I am selling the knives as the are as the forks can be used with any other knife, pistol handled or bone etc and they would look equally beautiful on the table.
Similar sets without the knives and for only ten are marketed on other sites for £4950 so this is a 12 person set and is far more desirable and is complete with extras such as ladle and pickle forks so is well priced.
